Susie Gharib

Susie Gharib is the New York-based co-anchor of Nightly Business Report. As a respected broadcast and print financial journalist with more than twenty years experience, she has built a solid reputation for her coverage of business stories, market trends and her expert analysis of Wall Street and international markets.

Winner of the coveted Gracie Allen award for Best Anchor, Gharib is known for her incisive, but personable interviews with corporate America’s movers and shakers, a who’s who of Wall Street and Washington, and the world’s business leaders.

She joined Nightly Business Report on May 1, 1998. Gharib came to NIGHTLY BUSINESS REPORT from CNBC, where she had anchored "Today’s Business" since 1993, and also anchored "Market Watch."

Following her magna cum laude graduation from Case Western Reserve University, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Gharib worked as a reporter for The Cleveland Plain Dealer. While doing graduate work in New York, she served as a news reporter for Newsweek and the Associated Press.

After receiving her Masters of International Affairs from Columbia University in 1974, she launched her career as a business journalist at Fortune Magazine, where she was an associate editor. In 1983, Gharib entered financial broadcasting as anchor/business correspondent of ESPN’s award-winning "Business Times," and also hosted the weekend program, "Management Report."

She later worked as a money reporter on "Eyewitness News" at ABC’s New York flagship station and as anchor of Financial News Network’s popular nightly call-in show, "FNN Moneytalk."

Gharib, a native New Yorker, grew up in Cleveland. She is listed in Who’s Who in America, has attained gold level status as a figure skater and is an avid tennis player. She is married and has two children.
